Merry Christmas Eve!

The UN’s Refugee Agency helps people all over the globe who have been displaced by human or natural means. Not only are they some of the first responders, with food and water and shelter, they also help with long-term arrangements like transportation home and funds for people who make new lives elsewhere.

There are tens of millions of refugees worldwide, running from war, tsunamis, earthquakes, and hurricanes. The UNHCR is the first one I always think of, right after the Red Cross, when something goes devastatingly awry.
