Aloha everyone!
In case you hadn’t noticed, we’ve moved! Just a little, but it’s really exciting! That’s right–I have a website!
How did this come about, considering I’ve been putting it off for literal years? Let me give you a hint:

Last week Kevin and I took a two-night trip to the Polynesian Resort at Disney World. But we didn’t go into the parks. (If you follow my Instagram @BessCarnanBooks, you’ll see that we do that every other week or so.)
Instead, we made it a working vacation.
During the day, we stayed huddled in our room, laptops out and feet up. We got room service (fancy) for lunch, and waved at all the other tourists as they headed into the Magic Kingdom. In the evenings we tried out the lu’au, walked around the resort–which was beautiful–and rewarded ourselves with adorable, tiny desserts.
Writing is a very solitary career and when you’re home all day, every day, it’s easy to get stuck in a rut. That’s why writing retreats are so popular, and writing conventions are everyone’s favorite weekend.
Mind you, not every working vacation can be to Disney. But just shaking it up a little by moving to a coffee shop, cafe, or friend’s house can often be enough to get a plot unstuck or even encourage you to build a website! But if you do make Disney your writing retreat, be sure to reward yourself with Dole Whip Swirl.
What’s your favorite place to go to get unstuck? Do you have a favorite Disney hotel? Where’s the
coolest place you’ve had to spend all day inside? Let me know!
P.S. Have you seen my website?
